Qualifying for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy: the Means Test
In order to qualify for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, your monthly income after expenses must be below the median in your area. We can explain the means test and calculate if you are eligible for Chapter 7. Certain debts cannot be discharged, including student loans and child support. Some of your personal and real property may be covered by an exemption, for instance, there is one for homestead property.
